23rd October The fine weather has continued this last week though today is cloudy and rain is forecast for tonight and tomorrow.  After that the weather looks set to improve for the weekend with sun forecast and mild temperatures.  Some color remains on the mountainsides as thoughts not turn to winter!

17th October

Fine weather this week as temperatures generally continue to drop overnight.  The autumn colours may have passed their peak, but there are still some stunning images to be seen in the mountains as can be seen in the photographs below.

10th October "Koyou" autumn colours are now in peak season in the region.  Please see the photos taken in the last few days below to get an idea of how the mountains are currently looking in the region.

With next Monday (13th) a national holiday, this weekend there should be many people out and about enjoying the sights.  There may be rain on Saturday, but finer weather is forecast for Sunday and Monday.

3rd October Beautiful scenery in the region at the moment with some fine weather and cool temperatures making it a fantastic time to be in the Japanese Alps.  The first snow of the season fell on the mountain tops last week and while the winter season is still a while away, it is hopefully a good sign for the ski season.

25th September

As you can see from the photos below, there is a lot of colour on the mountains in the region right now.  Autumn is truly with us with dark reds, golds and yellows mixing in with the greens on a clear day giving some fantastic views.  Temperatures also continue to drop and in the evenings now it is often very cool - almost cold!

11th September A look at the photos below taken about a week ago show how the seasons are changing.  The humidity is gone and temperatures are falling in the mountains as the comfortable weather of autumn sets in.  A time to enjoy!
